Design Committee Updates

The GEDC 2.0 submitted its draft proposal for a new General Education Program at BYU to the Faculty General Education Committee (FGEC) in December 2020, and the FGEC divided itself into working subgroups to develop foundation documents for each of the GE requirements specified in the proposal. As work on the foundation documents progresses, the draft proposal was presented to college deans who were then tasked to take the proposal back to their colleges for consideration and feedback through winter 2021. The proposal can be found here. The proposal will also be presented to the Faculty Advisory Council, student focus groups, the Student Advisory Council, and other stakeholders for additional input. Drawing upon this feedback, the FGEC will then make a formal proposal to the University Curriculum Council in spring 2021.
