General Education Professorship

The General Education Professorship (formerly the Karl G. Maeser General Education Professorship) was established to recognize exceptional service to General Education at Brigham Young University through outstanding teaching, the development of new courses, new programs or new philosophies, and by a sustained, long-term commitment to these efforts.  Appointments to these positions have been made to faculty with a deep love for the liberal arts and a willingness to commit significant time and energy to the teaching of General Education courses.  Only one General Education Professorship may be awarded each year.  The appointment is for three years and includes an annual salary stipend of $4,000 and $4,000 in annual research support funds.
