The overall objective of the Academy is to enhance teaching and learning in BYU's GE courses. Past academies have focused on the development and use of clear course objectives, the importance of student engagement in the classroom, and effective use of evaluation instruments to promote learning.
Beginning summer 2009, GE Academy for Teaching and Learning will be part of the Undergraduate Education Academy on Teaching and Learning. Faculty who teach both general education courses and honors courses will now be able to attend this new academy together. The topic for the UE Academy for 2009 is assessment.
